Dear Parents and Students,
With 148 of 157 students (94%) attending in-person, our gym and Raptor’s Den open before and after school and at lunch, clubs and activities meeting in-person, an in-person Senior treat and a great Valentine’s Day sponsored by HS Student Council, the week felt great on campus. Thank you to all for being safe and supporting our getting back!

The gym and Raptor’s Den are open during lunch and before and after school when supervision is available. Please see the schedule on the door for supervised times.

AISC HS Vision for an AISC Learning recognition: Ethical
Congratulations to the students recognized by the AISC HS Faculty for being outstanding ethical members of our community!
Ethical students show responsibility for their choices and consider the impact of choices on themselves, others and the environment. Ethical students act on their principles and ideals, supporting the dignity of others and themselves. Ethical students are role models for others, acting and articulating their views with respect, especially in challenging and uncomfortable situations.

Here is the lunch order form for HS students for February 21-25. It needs to be completed by Sunday at noon.
HS Parent Coffee - February 22 8:45-9:45 am repeated 5:00-6:00 pm
Managing those ever-important polarities: Is it a problem to be solved, or a polarity to be embraced? Every day we are faced with many situations which we might initially view as problems. One of the most useful techniques we can use is to first take a moment to reflect on whether the situation is actually a problem to be addressed and solved, or a result of a polarity which we may need to adjust and embrace in order to create a better balance and accept or alleviate an issue.
In this parent coffee, the High School Counselors will explain the concept of polarity management and provide time for thought and reflection on how parents can make use of this approach in their role as parents, in supporting their children and in their own lives as they confront the fabulous polarities that exist all around us.
Virtual Learning & Student Absences (from the Head of School’s Notes )
Nearly all AISC students -- 98% -- are now attending our On-Campus Program.
If you have already arranged to stay in our Virtual Learning Program that program will continue through the end of the year.
If you have not arranged to be in our Virtual Learning Program and expect to remain there for the rest of the year, please contact the section principal no later than Friday, February 25.
For students attending our On-Campus Program, please note our attendance procedure:
a. If a student is sick or needs to stay at home for personal reasons, they will not attend class virtually. Please complete the ParentLocker survey and notify the section office.
b. If a student is in quarantine/isolation by COVID-19 Protocol, complete the ParentLocker survey and notify the section office to access virtual classes.
Repeat Announcement: Course Request and Registration for 2022-2023: Meetings with Counselors
Thank you for supporting your child to consider, choose and enter their requests for courses next year. All 10th graders will be meeting with their counselor to create a 2-year plan. 10th graders interested in the IB Diploma program will meet with IB Coordinator Mr. Galaty, their counselor and parents to review the IBDP at AISC. 11th graders will be reviewing their course requests over the next several weeks as part of looking ahead to college admissions. Any students with questions should contact Ms. Priya in the counseling office to schedule an appointment with their counselor. Course request verification, when students are asked to confirm their course requests will be March 23, allowing for plenty of time for dialogue.
Repeat Announcement: Special Days ahead: Discovery Day, Lit Day and Spring Fest
Discovery Day Wednesday February 23 - our once per semester opportunity for students to explore, connect and discover together
Lit Day Wednesday March 2 - within Lit Week, a day to explore literacy in our multi-media and dynamic world
Spring Fling Friday March 11 - usually a half-day, this will be a full day of activities and fun sponsored by the HS Student Council.
Earth Day Thursday April 21 - within Earth week, a day to learn about and pursue actions to support our earth, environment and communities.
We will have a range of activities in each of these special days for students who are virtual to participate in.
