Dear Parents and Students,
We had a great week, punctuated by a student- and faculty-led Discovery Day. You likely had a happily tired HS student at home Wednesday evening. Today and this weekend 50+ HS students are participating in three (3) virtual MUNS and the virtual SAISA music festival. Next week we have Lit Day on Wednesday and the HS Spring production of Persephone Underground. See details below.

Please bring negative test cartridges to school on Monday only.
In-person club/activities meetings are in-person, on campus.
The gym and Raptor’s Den are open during lunch and before and after school when supervision is available.
FAC cafeteria and iHub are open for eating lunch. Social distancing remains essential.

The libraries at AISC are happy to present LitWeek 2022 from February 28th-March 4th! Your children will be invited to take part in several l events throughout the week and families should also be aware of the Virtual Book Fair happening throughout the week! HS Spring 2022 Production: Persephone Underground
*Note: In-Person performances are only open to HS students, HS staff, HSfaculty and parents and AISC siblings of cast and crew. Parents attending should be vaccinated and present a negative cartridge from an antigen test taken the morning of the performance along with their proof of vaccination. Limited seating for each performance.
On the eve of Theseus' marriage to the Amazonian Hippolyta - Hades' son lures Persephone into the underworld. There, Persephone learns that gods can do more than just their divine duty. Demeter, Deity of Harvests and Persephone's parent, is angered by the teen's choice and starves the mortals by creating a famine, demanding Persephone to return. An Ancient Greek myth with a rock band, Persephone Underground is a story of passion, empowerment and rebellion.

Repeat Announcement: Virtual Learning & Student Absences
Nearly all AISC HS students -- 96% -- are now attending our On-Campus Program.
If you have already arranged to stay in our Virtual Learning Program that program will continue through the end of the year.
If you have not arranged to be in our Virtual Learning Program and expect to remain there for the rest of the year, please contact the section principal no later than Friday, February 25.
For students attending our On-Campus Program, please note our attendance procedure:
a. If a student is sick or needs to stay at home for personal reasons, they will not attend class virtually. Please complete the ParentLocker survey and notify the section office.
b. If a student is in quarantine/isolation by COVID-19 Protocol, complete the ParentLocker survey and notify the section office to access virtual classes.
Repeat Announcement: Course Request and Registration for 2022-2023: Meetings with Counselors
Thank you for supporting your child to consider, choose and enter their requests for courses next year. All 10th graders are meeting with their counselor to create a 2-year plan. 10th graders interested in the IB Diploma program will meet with IB Coordinator Mr. Galaty, their counselor and parents to review the IBDP at AISC. 11th graders will be reviewing their course requests over the next several weeks as part of looking ahead to college admissions. Any students with questions should contact Ms. Priya in the counseling office to schedule an appointment with their counselor. Course request verification, when students are asked to confirm their course requests, will be March 23, allowing for plenty of time for dialogue.

Lit Day Wednesday March 2 - within Lit Week, a day to explore literacy in our multi-media and dynamic world
Spring Fling Friday March 11 - usually a half-day, this will be a full day of activities and fun sponsored by the HS Student Council.
Earth Day Thursday April 21 - within Earth week, a day to learn about and pursue actions to support our earth, environment and communities.
