Repeated Announcement with update: RaptorSafe for February 14th
N95 masks are recommended and are available at the school entrances. Surgical and KN95 masks are also acceptable.
Please bring negative test cartridges to school on Monday and Thursday only.
Please take the tests in the morning before school and bring the negative cartridge with you to school. Complete the ParentLocker questions. If the test is positive, inform us through ParentLocker and email ssunita@aischennai.org or call the HS Office.
Change: In-person club/activities meetings are now allowed on campus.
Change: The gym and Raptor’s Den are open during lunch and before and after school when supervision is available. Please see the schedule on the door for supervised times.
NO CHANGE: While lunchtime meetings may happen, no eating is allowed-masks must be kept on.

Here is the lunch order form for HS students for February 14-17. It needs to be completed by Sunday at noon.
Course Request and Registration for 2022-2023: Initial Course Requests entered
Thank you for supporting your child to consider, choose and enter their requests for courses next year. All 10th graders will be meeting with their counselor to create a 2-year plan. 10th graders interested in the IB Diploma program will meet with IB Coordinator Mr. Galaty, their counselor and parents to review the IBDP at AISC. 11th graders will be reviewing their course requests over the next several weeks as part of looking ahead to college admissions. Any students with questions should contact Ms. Priya in the counseling office to schedule an appointment with their counselor. Course request verification, when students are asked to confirm their course requests will be March 23, allowing for plenty of time for dialogue.

Special Days ahead: Discovery Day, Lit Day and Spring Fest
We communicated in December 2021 that we will not have Discover India this school year, which was scheduled for the week of March 7-11. We will use those additional 5 school days to have 2.5 days of additional classroom instruction and 2.5 days of additional full day events to support student discovery, exploration, leadership, connection and fun! Student feedback that whole days at school dedicated to discovery and connection are much appreciated. Thus, in addition to our usual Discovery Day already scheduled for February 23rd, we have the following special days this semester:
Lit Day Wednesday March 2 - within Lit Week, a day to explore literacy in our multi-media and dynamic world
Spring Fling Friday March 11 - usually a half day, this will be a full day of activities and fun sponsored by the HS Student Council.
Earth Day Thursday April 21 - within Earth week, a day to learn about and pursue actions to support our earth, environment and communities.
We will have a range of activities in each of these special days for students who are virtual to participate.
Students moving from in-person to virtual, and virtual to in-person
If your child is moving from virtual to in-person, or from in-person to virtual, we request that this change is communicated to us by a parent. Thank you for sharing with us this important decision.
To avoid any misunderstanding, I would like to be clear on two possible situations:
If a student is attending in-person, and is absent for a day of a summative assessment, the student cannot take the summative online, but will take the summative in-person in the next School Monitored Makeup Session.
For the special days mentioned above, a student needs to attend in-person for the days in that week prior to the special day in order to participate in the special day’s activities in-person. For example, for Spring Fling, a student would need be attending in-person starting Monday, March 7th through Thursday, March 10th to be eligible to participate in-person Spring Fling. As mentioned above, students can participate virtually in all special days.
EAL Coffee - Thursday, February 17 8:45- 9:45 am
Join us for an all school parent coffee where we will take a look at the process of language learning, how we support ELL students at AISC, and how you can support your child through transitions from virtual to in person. We will focus on practical tips that promote social and academic language growth.
