Dear Students and Parents,
Well Week begins Monday! The intention of the week is to bring attention to our wellbeing and share our experiences.
Throughout the week AISC community members will be asked to:
Monday: Self-Awareness - How are you feeling?
Identify a color or colors that represent your emotion(s) and create a visual representation or art form of those emotions.
Tuesday: Healthy Habits - Try something new!
Select a Healthy Habit that might be new to you or that you have started this year and then share a video of yourself doing the activity or a description of the activity.
Thursday: Positive Relationships - Gratitude & Kindness
Reach out to someone and show gratitude and commit to a random act of kindness. Then, share your experiences of showing gratitude and kindness through photos, videos, or written descriptions.
Friday: Self-Management - Share your tips!
Reflect on how you manage stress, persevere through challenges, and control impulses. Then, share tips with the AISC community about your practices.

Schedule Next Week
The week of April 12 is a short week. Grades 9 - 11 will study virtually and eligible Grade 12 students will study on campus on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday (April 14) is Tamil New Year and is a holiday. Classes will not be in session that day.
AP and IB Exam Sessions
A quick note to reassure you that we continue to plan for contingencies with as AP and IB exams approach. While we hope that all high school students are back on campus by May, we have booked an off site location for AP and IB exams as a back up.
Grade 12 students should continue to plan for a return to campus by April 19th to avail of exams on campus and to participate in end-of-term optional celebrations. As previously communicated, arrangements will be made for all grade 12 students to participate in graduation regardless of whether or not they return to on-campus study.
Grade 9 - 11 students should also continue to plan to return to campus by April 19th, however, if the school closure for those grades remain in effect by April 19th , students should plan to return as soon as they are given permission to do so.
As always, returning to on-campus study is a choice. Families who prefer that their child continue studying at home through the end of term are welcome to do so. If that is your choice, please contact Mr. Malone to explore options for the IB non-exam route or the AP virtual exam route.
Reminder - Earth Week is Coming
AISC is celebrating Earth Week from April 19-22. This year’s theme is A Call to Action. The week will feature student projects and live presentations, zero-waste workshops, and more. We hope you will join us in celebrating student learning and activism and leave inspired to take action!
2020-21 Yearbook Update - A Note from the Yearbook Staff - Repeat Announcement
Thank you to all of our families for your submission of student photos for our yearbook. We have worked with Konica photography to edit backgrounds to ensure a uniform presentation of student photos. A few notes about what to expect in this year's yearbook, as we are creating it under unusual circumstances:
· The photo you/your child/student submitted will appear in the yearbook.
· The name you/your child/student submitted will appear in the yearbook.
If you did not provide a photo of your child/student, a photo has been pulled from our student information systems. This has been done so that each student enrolled by March 26, 2021 could be included in the yearbook. If you did not submit a photo of your child/student, and his/her photo was pulled from our student information systems, we have used the first and last name in the system.
MAP testing for 9th and 10th graders
We will be assessing 9th and 10th graders for their growth in reading, language use, math and science using the Measure of Academic Progress tests. 10th graders will be in MAP testing from home on Wednesday, April 28th, and 9th graders on Wednesday, May 12th. See the schedule and brief overview of the process here. Students will be receiving more information in grade-level MAP preparation sessions in the next two weeks.
Semester 2 Final Exam and Final Alternative Assessment Schedule - Repeat Announcement
The schedule for final exams May 28 - June 3 and alternative final assessments during revision week May 24 - 27 is here. A reminder that all students are expected to sit for their final exam at the scheduled time May 28th-June 3rd. No early exams are allowed.
