Congratulations to our March Vision for and AISC Learner honorees!
Versatile students adapt to changing circumstances by being resourceful, willing and able to use multiple means of meeting a challenge. A versatile student is willing to take risks and employ new strategies when encountering the unexpected. A versatile student balances commitments in a wide range of interest areas, and seeks new opportunities for learning, growth and renewal.
Grade 12: Minji Kim always contributes in class and when we learned she was moving back to Korea mid-way through the semester, we were worried we would not see her as much. Not true! She has adapted to her new time zone and contributes as strongly as before, infusing her critical thinking and creativity in all she does!
Grade 11: Achilles Condon is always willing to problem-solve! A careful and considerate thinker and classmate, Achilles is well prepared and thoughtful, has a great sense of humor, and demonstrates a positive approach to new and difficult ideas.
Grade 10: Sebastian Orye has shown great versatility this year as he not only transitioned into a new school, but he did so during virtual learning. Sebastian took risks and joined discussions and group work immediately without a beat and has employed strategies to maximize his participation as a means to never miss an opportunity to learn.
Grade 9: Anjali Seshadri is new to AISC this year and has pushed herself to learn about and integrate in our community. This has required learning a new reporting approach and making new friends virtually. Anjali comes to the table with an open mind, an inquiry stance and a courage to take chances in class and beyond.

Schedule Next Week
The week of April 5 is a short week. Monday, April 5th is virtual student parent teacher conferences and, so, no classes will be in session. Tuesday, April 6th, school is closed for elections. Grades 9 - 11 will study virtually
Progress Reports Available
Mid-semester progress reports were emailed home yesterday and are now available for download. . Please review the report with your child in preparation for conferences.
As a reminder, progress reports indicate a student’s academic achievement to date. There is plenty of time for students to set achievement goals and attain them before the end of the year.
Save the Date - Well Week is Coming - A Note from the Wellbeing Team
Well Week is coming on April 12- 16th. The intention of the week is to bring attention to our wellbeing and share our experiences. Students will get daily instructions from their section communications on how to engage in Well Week activities. We encourage parents and faculty to join in as well! Keep an eye out next week for details about the activities on each day!
2020-21 Yearbook Update - A Note from the Yearbook Staff
Thank you to all of our families for your submission of student photos for our yearbook. We have worked with Konica photography to edit backgrounds to ensure a uniform presentation of student photos. A few notes about what to expect in this year's yearbook, as we are creating it under unusual circumstances:
· The photo you/your child/student submitted will appear in the yearbook.
· The name you/your child/student submitted will appear in the yearbook.
If you did not provide a photo of your child/student, a photo has been pulled from our student information systems. This has been done so that each student enrolled by March 26, 2021 could be included in the yearbook. If you did not submit a photo of your child/student, and his/her photo was pulled from our student information systems, we have used the first and last name in the system.

A group of explorers sit on a beach, staring at the world in front of them. A city spread across the coast; a collage of futuristic IT parks, rubbled buildings and ancient temples. In the middle of it all; an oasis of learning. Over the course of 25 years, the explorers, who are resilient, empathetic, thinkers, and innovators, try to uncover what it means to truly flourish.
This original production is based on real life interviews of AISC community members, conducted and composed by senior year student Seoyoung Ryu ('21), retelling their stories of the school's impact and growth with Chennai over the past 25 years. The production features original costume designs by Anjali Seshadri ('24), Erin Sullivan ('24), Hera Kwak ('21), Kavya Krishnan ('24) and Yejin Choi ('23) and a proposed set design by SJ Lee ('22).

Semester 2 Final Exam and Final Alternative Assessment Schedule
The schedule for final exams May 28 - June 3 and alternative final assessments during revision week May 24 - 27 is here. A reminder that all students are expected to sit for their final exam at the scheduled time May 28th-June 3rd. No early exams are allowed
Virtual Student Parent Teacher Conferences - April 5 - Link Live - Repeat Announcement
The second semester student parent teacher conferences will be virtual and, as such, all students will remain at home on April 5th. Parents are encouraged to sign up for conferences using this link.
Conferences will be hosted on Zoom unless a parent specifically requests a phone call directly from the teacher. All Zoom links and pass codes can be accessed here. Upon clicking the link parents will be in the “waiting room” until their conference time begins.
A Message from the IT/Communications Offices - Repeat Announcement
We’re building a new AISC website and UK-based Interactive Schools is helping us do it! Our needs have evolved beyond our existing (and beloved!) website and it’s time for a refresh. And you can support us by taking part in focus groups that will help us gain insights into our needs and the kinds of stories we want to tell prospective community members and each other.
Students and parents are welcome to participate and the time commitment is only 30 minutes in mid-April. If you’d like to take part, fill out this form to show your interest.
