Dear Students and Parents,
We also know that many families are starting to shift back to Chennai. Welcome home! We ask that as families arrive they notify the high school office that they are back in town.
The AISC virtual book fair is coming soon...
All School Spirit Week
The Student Council would like to raise awareness about the upcoming all-school spirit week taking place between the 7th of September and the 11th of September. Here is a summary of what they have planned.
7th of September, Monday: Bring an Animal Day - Have any pets or stuffed animals at your house? Bring them to your virtual school meetings!
8th of September, Tuesday: COVID Theme Day - Design and customize your own personal N-95 mask and then wear it, or wear your best, favorite, or craziest mask to class!
9th of September, Wednesday: Crazy Day - Mess around with the virtual backgrounds options on Zoom and attend your classes with a brand new look! But the fun doesn't stop there! Spruce up your hair in a crazy manner, and throw on a wacky outfit to accompany that background!
10th of September, Thursday: Multiples Day - Dress up like your favorite character, or friend, or twin with your profile picture.
11th of September, Friday: Sports Day - Flaunt your AISC spirit by donning the School's Colours (Blue, Mango, and White).
Module Two Attendance Progress Posted on Monday
Module Two attendance will be posted on Powerschool on Monday by 4:00 pm. If there is nothing listed, the student was counted as present. If a student is absent, you will see “AB” as the code for Thursday, September 3rd, or Friday, September 4th.
Students marked absent should review Module 2 engagement expectations for the course(s) and submit any missing assignments by Friday, September 11th, and, in all likelihood, will be assigned to School Monitored Study Session by their teacher (Friday the 11th from 4:00 - 6:00 pm).
Reminder - Help Labs
A reminder that “help labs” are in place for students who feel they need a bit of extra help on an assignment or concept. The help lab schedule and sign up form are posted daily on the student bulletin.
Progress Update Approaching
Friday, September 11th, is our first progress update of the semester. By 4:00 pm on that date, teachers will have as many scored assessments as possible up to date and recorded in PowerSchool.
Please note that updates do not include an overall score for the reporting strands or the course as a whole. Instead, this update is at the assessment level.
If you have any questions about scored assessments, please ask your son or daughter for clarification and to share the assessment and the rubric/mark scheme. If additional questions remain unanswered, please reach out to the teacher for an appointment as needed.
Sincerely,
Joelle Basnight
High School Principal
