 Dear Students and Parents,

We hope that our students are enjoying our Wellbeing activities - from mindfulness to music to physical activity. Here are some pictures from last week. The next wellbeing session will be next Friday.

Progress Update Today

By 4:00 pm today teachers will have as many scored assessments as possible up to date and recorded in PowerSchool as a means to communicate academic progress with students and parents.

Please note that updates do not include an overall score for the reporting strands or the course as a whole. Instead, this update is at the assessment level.

If you have any questions about scored assessments, please ask your son or daughter for clarification and to share the assessment and the rubric/mark scheme. If additional questions remain unanswered, please reach out to the teacher for an appointment as needed.

Module Three Mid-Module Progress Posted on Monday

A reminder that mid-module progress will be posted on Powerschool on Monday by 4:00 pm. As a reminder, each module clearly defines what is needed to be considered “on track” for the module by the end of week one.

Students and parents can view their attendance by clicking on “quick links” and, then, “grades and attendance.” If there is nothing listed for Thursday, September 10 or Friday, September 11, then the student is on track.

If, instead, “IE” (insufficient evidence) is listed for a course, it means the student has not met the engagement benchmark for the week. In such cases teachers will reach out to the student directly to explore how to get the student back on track.

There is no penalty for being “IE” as students can qualify for full attendance for the module by meeting that benchmark by the end of the module.

Upcoming SAT Tests

AISC will be hosting the upcoming September and October SAT tests at a local hotel. Please contact Ms. Priya for more information.

A Note from Sherriden Masters: Virtual Learning School-Wide Survey
Monday 7th - Tuesday 17th September

On Monday the community received a direct email, asking for your insight and perspectives on the first month of Virtual Learning at AISC in the 20-21 academic year. This was a short survey and should take no more than 3 minutes to complete. Warmest thanks to those that have already contributed by sharing their feedback.  If you have not yet completed the survey, it can be found here.

The survey will be open until Tuesday, September 15. Thank you again for your time and attention.

A Note from MUN IMPACT: Discussion on ‘Inequality in the time of COVID-19’

(3:45-4:30pm IST on Monday, September 21)

‘In January, the start of the UN’s 75th anniversary, Secretary-General António Guterres launched the world’s biggest conversation on building a better future for all. The vision was to spark conversations (“UN75 dialogues”) in all settings on priorities for the future, obstacles to achieving them, and the role of international cooperation in making progress. Over 330 dialogues in 87 countries were held in the first three months of year – physically and virtually. It is vital that peoples’ voices are heard at this crucial time for the world.’

The UN has created a global survey to help guide them on global priorities. Please take a moment to share your opinion: https://un75.online/AISC’s MUN Impact Chennai club believes in the vision of the UN and the message of the Secretary-General. We believe that international cooperation is pertinent in the times of COVID, and that starts with greater global engagement, through discussions like these. Please join us. Here is the Zoom Link:
