Dear Students and Parents,

Student volunteers participated in a SEVAI project on Saturday by helping out at a local school, Seva Samajam, by fixing swings on the playground and painting them as well as painting a wall with student art.

The high school visual arts students will have work on display in the FAC Atrium through May 27th. Please stop in to see the amazing work created by our students.

Discover India Selections Complete

The selection for the 2015 Discover India trips has been completed for students in grades 10, 11 and 12 next year. In previous years students were assigned by a lottery method. Last year this resulted in the majority of students being assigned to a higher priority trip but, also, it meant that a number of students received a much lower ranked choice. This year a different method was used. Students applied to attend trips and justified their placement for their top four choices. In addition, student indicated if there was a particular staff member or student they would rather not travel. Finally, they were able to list particular friends that they would like to travel with if possible. Mr. McFarland was able to place 100% of the students who completed their applications on one of their top four trips. We are excited to offer 18 different trips next year and feel that the process used will result in a more enriching experience for the students.

Once final exams begin and students no longer have need for their texts and supplies, please note that they are encouraged to pick up a check out form from the High School Office.  This form must be completed before records are released.  The form entails collecting signatures from teachers and other coordinators (e.g. librarian) to demonstrate that all school materials have been returned.

Lost and Found Items

Lost and Found items are stored near the MC rooms. Sonia David in the main reception holds the valuable items. Kindly visit these areas if your student has lost something.

The items that have been found will be displayed on tables in the main entrance from Wednesday, June 3rd through Friday, June 5th. Please stop by to see if any of these belong to your family. Those items not claimed by Friday, June 5th will be donated to local orphanages.

The counselors continue to maintain and add to their blog with summer opportunities for students. Families who are interested in participating in summer programs should check out the Counselor's Blog on the HS Counseling Moodle page. There is a page dedicated to summer enrichment programs which the counselors are updating as new information comes to them. If you are aware of programs that you'd like to share publicly, please email information to Ms. McGlamery or Ms. Larsen.
