Dear Parents,
Today we celebrated the achievements
of our students over the course of the past year at our annual Awards Assembly.
Awards were presented to students for their accomplishments in Model United
Nations, Student Council, English as a Second Language, Athletics and Theater
Arts. Students who met high standards of academic achievement were presented
with Presidential Awards for Academic Excellence and Achievement. We also took
the opportunity to hold our very first National Honor Society inductions.

the sidebar. Congratulations to our awardees!
Semester exams – Students in grades 9-11 will start their exams on
Friday morning, June 1. The students will take their English exams on that day.
The remaining exams will be held on June 4-6. There will be a special exam
schedule on those days. Students who do not have an exam during a given exam
period are not required to be in school. However, students who some to school
and then leave may not return to campus. The exam schedule can be found in the
link in the sidebar.
Graduation -
Semester exams for Seniors are over
and they can all rest easy until the big event next Friday. The graduation
ceremony will start at 2:30 p.m. in the Gymnasium. It will be followed by a
reception in the Auxiliary Gym. Family members are encouraged to arrive by 2:00
p.m. to ensure that they can find parking and are seated when the ceremony
begins.
Students in grades 9-11 may attend but
are not required to.
Schedules - Student
schedules for next year will be distributed to students on Tuesday. We have
made every effort to meet the course requests of all students. However, due to
the constraints of course, teacher and room availability and class sizes,
certain course combinations may not be available. If your child finds that an
error was made or would like to make any changes they need to go to the
guidance office where they can make appointments to see Mrs. Callaway.
There is limited time before the end of the school year and depending on
numbers she may not be able to address all students’ concerns. Please
help your child remain calm in that case. There will also be time in
August to handle these issues.
Departing students – Each year some of our students leave the school. Records from AISC
are usually required by the next school. However, it takes us some time to
prepare these records. If you will be leaving the school, please contact us at
least as soon as possible so we can prepare the necessary documents to make
your transition as smooth as possible. Final report cards and transcripts will
be available for 12th Grade students by Friday, June 8. Final report
cards will be available for 9th, 10th and 11th
grade students by Friday, June 15.
