Dear Parents,
Today was an exciting
day, the culmination of 14 years of schooling for our graduating Seniors. As I
read the names for them to step up and receive their diplomas, I was reminded
of what an impressive group of young people they are. It is a team effort to bring
children to this point in their lives; it cannot be done without the shared
efforts of parent and teachers alike. Congratulations to the parents of the
students in the Class of 2012. You have done a fine job of raising your
children and preparing them for productive and satisfying lives. They are a
great bunch of kids.
Semester exams – Students in grades 9-11
started their exams on Friday morning, June 1. The remaining exams will be held
on June 4-6. There will be a special exam schedule on those days. Students who
do not have an exam during a given exam period are not required to be in
school. However, students who some to school and then leave may not return to
campus. The exam schedule can be found in the link in the sidebar.
Last day of
school –
Friday, June 8 will be the last day of school. We will hold shortened classes
from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. to allow students to say goodbye to their teachers and
to see their semester exam results. At 10:30 we will hold a Farewell Assembly
at which we will bid goodbye to departing students and faculty members. The
assembly will end by 11:00 a.m. and the summer holidays will begin.
Schedules - Student schedules for
next year were distributed to students last Tuesday. We have made every effort
to meet the course requests of all students. However, due to the constraints of
course, teacher and room availability and class sizes, certain course
combinations may not be available. If your child finds that an error was made
or would like to make any changes they need to go to the guidance office where
they can make appointments to see Mrs. Callaway. There is limited time
before the end of the school year and depending on numbers she may not be able
to address all students’ concerns. Please help your child remain calm in that case.
There will also be time in August to handle these issues.
Yearbooks
TODAY! - The
2011-12 yearbook was unveiled on Friday, June 1 in the, just after the morning
exam was over. It is getting rave reviews from the high school students.
Students and parents can bring receipt to pick up your copy at the Reception
Desk. If you haven’t purchased your copy
yet, go to the Finance Office to make your payment before we sell out!
The
end is near! -
Year-end checkout forms were given to all students last week. These are needed
to ensure that all materials loaned to you by the
school, such as books and locks, are returned. These forms must be completed by
the end of the school day on Thursday, June 7. Lost or damaged textbooks or
locks and be paid for in the Finance Office.
Departing students – Each year some of our
students leave the school. Records from AISC are usually required by the next
school. However, it takes us some time to prepare these records. If you will be
leaving the school, please contact us at least as soon as possible so we can
prepare the necessary documents to make your transition as smooth as possible.
Final report cards and transcripts will be available for 12th Grade students by Friday, June 8.

Due to a family medical emergency I must leave for the U.S. on
Saturday and will miss the last week of school. If you have any questions or

It has been a very busy but fruitful and gratifying first year at
AISC. I have learned much about what makes AISC such a great school and have
enjoyed working with the faculty and the students to find ways to make it even
better. I look forward to next year and working with all of you once again.
