AP Study Leave - Change in Support of Night Exams

As AP exams will now be virtual, we have shifted our study leave provision to include the afternoon before the exam (blocks 3 and 4) and the morning after the exam (blocks 1 and 2). It is our hope that this will allow students time to revise the afternoon prior and attend to their need to sleep the morning after.

Once all exams are rescheduled we will help students figure out their unique leave schedule and let teachers of non-AP classes know when to excuse them.

Lit Week Begins! - A Note from Ms. Marion

AISC is celebrating LitWeek next week with a variety of reading-themed activities and events. Check out the LitWeek Website for each day’s contests, links to our virtual Book Fair, and information about our visiting author, Padma Venkatraman.

And, what better way to celebrate LitWeek than by reading a book! The HS CIC is still open for checkouts. Use this Google form to request books. The form will be open from Friday until Tuesday each week and curbside pick up will take place at the ES entrance every Wednesday between 8:30 am - 3:30 pm. We encourage students to check the library catalog before requesting specific titles to ensure that they are available. Please let Marion, wmarion@aischennai.org, know if you have any questions.

High School Band and Choir Performance - An Invitation from Mr. Kennedy

Please join us in supporting our AISC music students for our Spring Virtual Concert. Students in both MS and HS have collaborated to perform the song "See You Again" which has been arranged for both choir and bands by our very own Mr. Krebs! We will also have individual guitar and choir performances, plus a few special interviews from students. We welcome our school community to join our concert on Thursday, April 29th,  4:30 - 5:00 pm IST via our updated Zoom link:

AP and IB Reminders

AP exams will now be digital only, that is, we will not offer in-person, paper and pen tests in May 2021. The May/June 2021 AP exam schedule is here, with digital exams taking place May 18-28 and/or June 1-11.

As last year, students will take AP digital exams at home.  As last year, digital AP exams take place in the evening/at night IST, with exam start times of 9:30 pm IST and 1:30 am IST.

Dfiferent from last year, the digital AP exams will be full length (3 hours+). Also different is that the AP Exam App is much more robust. Thus, connectivity issues should not interfere with students’ completion and submission of their exams.  Students info sessions on the digital exams are being held next week. The APs exam information page is here.

IB Exams have been cancelled for May 2021.  The IBO cancelled all IB exams in India. Students in Y2 of their IB classes will be graded on the non-examination route.  Information on the non-examination route grading process is here.  IB Y2 classes end today, April 23rd.

Prom Update

Students were notified via email earlier this week that we have decided to eliminate hosting Prom in a hotel. We are presently looking at the COVID data in Chennai and consider the recent orders to determine if an on-campus Prom is possible. A final decision will be made early next week. Should an in-person Prom be cancelled, the school will support the planning committee in shifting to a virtual event.

Summer Programs - A Note from Counseling

Summer programs can be a way to experience something new and to enrich your learning. If you are interested in diving deeper into a subject that you are passionate about or want to explore, check out the Summer Programs listed here.  Many of the programs will be virtual this summer.  Please let your counselor know if you have any questions!
