February honors Leadership!
Leaders take action and inspire others to serve and contribute positively to our interconnected world. Leaders develop a vision, plan for and act appropriately and work positively to achieve their goals. Leaders accept challenges, demonstrate courage, generate and provide motivation, include others in efforts to reach a goal.
Frida Jungloev - Frida leads by example. She inspires others by simply throwing herself into the fray. She does not complain--she simply gets to work. Her no-nonsense approach is not without humor; she has a subtle sense of humor that in fact encourages students to take up the challenge in front of them. She's the very definition of a quiet leader.
Lekhana Gogineni - Lekhana is a strong leader both in individual action and in group settings. In discussion and activities she strives to include everyone by asking their opinions and ideas. She is also able to listen and synthesize ideas, drawing together a group's ideas and helping to facilitate action. She works diligently on tasks and is willing to share her insights with others.
Nicole Ahn - Nicole is a natural leader. She is confident and partners with others easily. She actively looks to improve her leadership skills in the classroom and beyond and calls on these skills in group work and discussion. Nicole is capable of getting a diverse group to work towards a common goal and includes in the decision making process.
Gauthier Lahmadi (not pictured) - Gauthier is always excited to share his ideas, to help others and to support them in developing their understanding. He asks insightful questions that support everyone's learning and shares his thinking and reasoning with transparency and courage.
On Campus Cohort Schedule for Next Week
As the week of March 1 is five days, the on-campus cohort schedule will be as follows:
Monday and Tuesday - Mango on campus, blue virtual
Wednesday - Mango and blue virtual
Thursday and Friday - Blue on campus, mango virtual
Upcoming Orientation for Students Coming to Campus the First Time
The next orientation session for students coming to campus for the first time is next week (Monday for Mango and Thursday for Blue).
To attend orientation students must have parent permission and health forms submitted at least 24 hours before the scheduled orientation. All orientations will take place from 8:15 - 8:55 am in the Madras Hall. Students should arrive on campus between 8:00 - 8:15 am.

Discovery Day and Spring Fest Coming Soon
On Wednesday, March 10th, we will take a break from our usual hybrid schedule to have a virtual Discovery Day in the morning and a virtual Spring Fest in the afternoon.
Participation in both events is expected as it represents an opportunity for wellbeing. Sign ups for the events will be circulated to students soon.
Coming Soon: Mid-Semester Reports and Student/Teacher/Parent Conferences
Mid-semester progress reports will be available online at 4:00 pm on March 31st. This report includes achievement scores for our three reporting strands (Knowledge/Understanding, Thinking/Transfer and Communication) as well as an overall score for the course. The report also include feedback on learning habits and a comment to give context to the achievement scores.
We will host second semester student/parent/teacher conferences on Monday, April 5th from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. All conferences will be virtual and, as such, all students will remain at home that day as regular classes will be suspended. The link to sign up for conference slots will be circulated via email on March 22nd with the link repeated in the Principal's Notes on March 26th and April 1st.
