Dear Students and Parents,

Congratulations to Harish Srinivasan! His poem, titled “My City, My Life” was published in Madras Hues, Myriad Views, an illustrated anthology celebrating Madras. The publication was compiled by Jairam Seshadri, S. Sundar Rajan and the IPC  (India Poetry Circle) Editorial Team. Harish was inspired to write and publish his work with the encouragement of  Mr. Mark Condon.

Last week our Introduction to Design Technology class visited the H.O.P.E. school in search of authentic clients! They were able to see the kindergarten children interacting with the educational toys designed and built by last spring’s DT class and, then, they met with grade 1 teachers to learn their needs for this semester’s project.

This week the Athletics and Activities Office hosted our annual Activities Mela. Students had the opportunity to learn about the various clubs and organizations on offer at AISC and to sign up to participate!

In the News (again) - Vaping

As health issues related to vaping continue to unfold in the United States, we wanted to raise your attention to a recent announcement from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) announcement encouraging individuals to refrain from e-cigarette use and, most importantly, purchasing vaping products from unknown sources. A more accessible explanation of the CDC announcement can be found in this New York Times article. Please note that vaping materials originating from the US and other countries are widely available in India.

Next Early Release Wednesday - Repeat Announcement

The next Early Release Wednesday will be on September 11th. Students are expected to depart campus in a timely and organized fashion upon dismissal at 2:00 pm. For our Middle and High School students, a hot lunch will be served. Food services in the iHub will close at 1:50 pm. Please note that the iHub will be open to provide an air-conditioned waiting area until 2:40 pm in case drivers are delayed.
