Dear Students and Parents,
Congratulations to all of the students who completed their paper/pencil final exams this week. To support their performance we started each session with a moment of mindfulness. Have a wonderful vacation!
Congratulations as well to the Design Technology students who completed their final project creating educational resources for the Hope School. Here are a few pictures of the products and their unveiling!
For December we honor resilience:
Resilient students demonstrate an on-going commitment to their own and our collective learning endeavors. These students practice persistence and patience in all situations, learning from successes and failures in the positive pursuit of their objectives, goals, and dreams. Resilient students set and adhere to their goals, seek and integrate feedback and keep their eyes on the prize in all situations, especially when they are challenging or uncomfortable.
Grade 12 JiWon Lee - JiWon is a committed student who continuously sets high goals for her learning. She uses feedback to work on improving her skills, no matter how frustrating or challenging it can be for her at times. JiWon also serves as an example as to how to set personal goals for learning and progress towards achieving them. She never fails to rise to the challenge and does so with a positive attitude!
Grade 11 Yujin Cha - Yujin is strongly committed to her learning. She is persistent and patient and consistently seeks feedback, works to apply it, and, then, repeats the cycle once again. She is not put off by challenges; she has a goal to be successful and seems to understand there are bumps on the road to achieving it.
Grade 10 Minji Kim - Minji asks questions and seeks feedback in order to learn and improve. She is quiet, persistent and looks at mistakes as a way to improve. Her resilience is inspiring, as she has proven that learning from your successes, as well as your setbacks, will help you to truly learn.
Grade 9 Sungbae Ko - Sungbae is a deep thinker who, while sometimes frustrated by his ability to completely verbalize what he really thinks, constantly works to improve his academic English. He is constantly meeting with teachers after class, attending writing lab, and leaves no stone unturned in his pursuit of improvement.

Next Early Release Wednesday Coming
The next Early Release Wednesday will be on January 23rd. Students are expected to depart campus in a timely and organized fashion upon dismissal at 2:00 pm unless participating in the Wellness Summit. We appreciate your patience with traffic on these days as all three sections are picking up students at the same time. In preparation, please plan on allowing longer time for entry and exit to the school at release time. For our Middle and High School students, a hot lunch will be served. Please note that the iHub will be open to provide an air-conditioned waiting space until 2:40 pm in case drivers are delayed. Food services in the iHub will close at 1:50 pm.

Summer Programs
Please note that for the remainder of the year we will share this link to summer programs at the end the Principal’s Notes. If you have any questions about whether or not a summer program makes sense to pursue, please contact one of our counselors. Additional programs and resources will be added to this list as vendors contact us.
Sincerely,
