Collaborators are those students who listen carefully to others' perspectives and confidently articulate their personal viewpoints in the pursuit of common goals. These students have the ability to reflect on the contributions of others and themselves toward a goal. As a result, collaborators actively encourage others' contributions, ask questions and make suggestions that move work forward, and synthesize others' ideas with their own to create solutions.
Grade 12 - Nina Kumar: Nina strikes a great balance between keeping her team members on task while making them feel welcome, listened to, and comfortable. This is true in group discussions, small projects, and in her co-curricular activities as well. She is an accomplished collaborator and leader.
Grade 11 - Advika Srinivasan: Advika is a great listener who ensures that all voices in the group are heard. She is often found facilitating discussions and activities and actively brings people into the conversation. She is also very organized and helps her group stay focused and on task.
Grade 10 - Yoonjong Kang: Yoon works well with all his peers. He is a strong listener, who values the opinions of others. He is confident in his own point of view, and is willing to change his views when others offer sound reasoning. In group settings, he asks questions and includes others.
Grade 9 - Rohan Roberson: Rohan confidently articulates his personal viewpoints and yet, is open to new ideas from others. He is inclusive and encourages others to contribute to discussions. He is happy to work with all students and welcomes them into his group.
Save the Date - High School Theater Production - A Message from the Producer
Güllen: once a center of culture and industry, the little European town has fallen on hard times. With the factories closed, opportunities drying up, and even the trains passing them by, the townspeople have begun to despair.
But there is a glimmer of hope: Claire Zachanassian, once a child of the town—and now the wealthiest person in the world—is returning for a visit.
In the hopes of securing her investment in her old hometown, the Gülleners prepare a nostalgic welcome. When the moment finally comes, Claire offers them unimaginable generosity...but at an unthinkable price.
*The Visit* by Friedrich Dürrenmatt is a tragicomedy suitable for High School and mature Middle School students. The production runs Friday, 30 November at 6:30 pm and Saturday, 1 December at 2:00pm. Tickets are on sale in the main reception office for Rs. 100.
Next Early Release Wednesday Coming
The next Early Release Wednesday will be on November 28th. Students are expected to depart campus in a timely and organized fashion upon dismissal at 2:00 pm. We appreciate your patience with traffic on these days as all three sections are picking up students at the same time. In preparation, please plan on allowing longer time for entry and exit to the school at release time. For our Middle and High School students, hot lunch will be served. Please note that the iHub will be open to provide an air conditioned waiting space until 2:40 pm in case drivers are delayed. Food services in the iHub will close at 1:50 pm.
Wellbeing Update - A Message from Mr. Nigel
Thank you to the many parents who have completed the consent form for the wellbeing survey. We see this as a valuable way to measure our school's growth in wellbeing over the coming years.
If you have not yet completed the consent form we will be sending you an email as a reminder. An in-depth description of the survey is included in the consent form and some examples of survey questions include:
- My life is going well.
- I feel happy.
- My teachers care about me.
- I have friends that I really care about.
Please indicate whether you consent for your child/ren to participate in the survey by responding YES or NO on the digital consent form, accessible here, on or before Tuesday the 20th of November.

Community Summit: Exploring the Horizons of Wellbeing - A Message from the Organizers
Over the course of three early release days, we will be holding this Community Summit to explore the horizons of wellbeing. To make this a truly community-driven endeavor we need parents and students to join faculty and administrative staff to envision the future of wellbeing at AISC.
Together we will:
Discover what we are doing best to nurture wellbeing at AISC - November 28
Envision bold new possibilities for the future - December 12
Design for excellence and construct the future of wellbeing at AISC - January 23
The sessions will run from 2:30-5:00 pm in the Gym. Parents and Students are asked to RSVP for this event here.
Upcoming Parent Coffees and Focus Groups - Repeat Announcement
To collect your feedback about SBAR implementation to date, you are invited to attend the focus group corresponding to your son/daughter’s grade level. We have scheduled the groups this way as we feel that grade 12 parents may have different need than those of underclassmen.
Grade 12 parents: 8:45 - 9:15 am - November 20th, BBT
Grade 9 - 11 parents: 9:15 - 10:00 am - November 20th, BBT
Our regularly scheduled November Parent Coffee will take place on Tuesday, November 27th, at 8:45 am in the BBT. The counselors will be leading a session requested by some parents: How to help your teen advocate for him/herself. Have you ever asked your son/daughter to “please go ask the teacher for help” only to receive a shrug or an excuse? Then this coffee will help you learn ways to approach your teen to develop self-advocacy skills for use in high school and beyond!
Semester 1 Revision and Final Exam Schedule - Repeat Announcement
From Tuesday, December 11th until Friday, December 14th, students will be engaged in one of two activities during class time: revising for their paper/pen two-hour final examination or completing alternative cumulative final assessments.
The final exam period will begin on Monday, December 17th and follow this Exam Schedule
As you make your winter travel plans please keep in mind that final examinations cannot be given early. Students unable to complete their examinations before the winter break will be required to complete alternative forms of the examinations starting Wednesday morning, January 16th at 8:15 am.
