Dear Students and Parents,
Congratulations to the Vision honorees for February.
They are Leaders:
Leaders
take action and inspire others to serve and contribute positively to our
interconnected world. Leaders develop a vision, plan for and act appropriately
and work positively to achieve their goals. Leaders accept challenges,
demonstrate courage, generate and provide motivation, include others in efforts
to reach a goal.
Vikram Sivakumar - Vikram is a student with endless and
infectious energy. He is willing to stand up and take charge both in the
classroom and in activities for the school community. His understanding of
leadership is seen in his ability to work well with others as he shifts his
role and influence in order to best support those around him.
Junwon Choi - Leadership comes naturally to Junwon. His
charismatic personality and desire to improve the world around him, motivates
others. Throughout his time at AISC, he has continually demonstrated his
ability to lead in various clubs and within the classroom. He meets challenges
head on, collaborates well with others, and perseveres. He is an inspiration to
those around him.
Sanjana Kumar- Whether it is in the classroom as an
individual and with her peers, or heading an activity, Sanjana is taking the
lead...thoughtfully and energetically planning, openly and effectively
incorporating others in discussion or activities, and personally reflecting.
She is a genuine role model.
Celia Malone - Celia was a standout organizer of the
Valentine's Day STUCO activity. She committed a great deal of time and effort
to collaborate with her Student Council peers, communicating clearly and
supportively as well as ensuring that delivery did not negatively distract from
classroom learning. The success of the day could not have occurred without her
leadership.
Progress Reports Available Today
The mid-semester progress reports were sent home today
after school and can also be viewed online. Please take some time to review the
report with your son/daughter to prepare questions for the upcoming Student
Parent Teacher Conferences on March 14th.
This semester we will run one full day of conferences by
appointment from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm on Wednesday, March 14th in teacher
classrooms. Appointments are ten minutes in length. The link to schedule
an appointment with teachers is available here.
Semester Exam Schedule Coming Soon
Mr. Malone is putting the finishing touches on the
semester two exam schedule. Please note that exams will run from May 28th until
June 1st. While making plans for summer travel we strongly encourage you to
delay your departure until after June 1st even if your child’s individual exam
schedule allows for an earlier departure. Every semester we have students who
fall ill during exam week and have to delay an exam or two until the final
conflict/make up day.
Please note that we do not give exams early for any reason
and we also cannot allow students to take or make-up exams after Saturday, June
2nd.
The second semester exam schedule will be available at
Student Parent Teacher Conferences (March 14th) and a link to the schedule will
be included in next week’s notes.
