Many thanks to all of the students for making today’s Discovery Day a success! We hope it was enjoyed by all.
Congratulations to Student Council for another successful Feb Fling! Each year the group works to serve the local and global community by putting on one heck of a fundraiser! The elementary and middle school students come and enjoy the activities while all proceeds are made available to high school services clubs in order for them to continue their fine work providing service in the community. Many thanks to everyone who contributed! This year Stuco raised 2 lakh!
A Message from the Fun Night Out Committee
Last Friday student's enjoyed another Fun Night Out playing a variety of board games. Some students challenged their rivals at a game of chess. Others strategized over world domination in a game of Risk. A few went out on a limb and found their artistic skills in a game of Pictionary. Word skills, balance and luck all came into play during games of Scrabble, Twister and Bingo. Interest was piqued with the traditional Indian Carrom Board and Korean Yuk. See some of the night's fun below.

Yearly Student Lifestyle Survey
Next week the counselors will be conducting an anonymous lifestyle survey with all students. This will allow us to continue to learn more about lifestyle issues of our students ranging from alcohol use to stress levels to how much sleep students get. We will look forward to sharing the results of this survey at the April parent coffee.
Save the Date - High School Student/Parent/Teacher Conferences
Believe it or not, March 3rd marks the middle of this semester! Mid-semester progress reports will be available on that date after 3:30 pm (both electronically and on paper sent home with students).
Drop in arena style student/parent/teacher conferences will be available on Tuesday, March 7th from 3:45 - 5:30 pm. This style of conference is most appropriate for non-confidential quick check ins.
By appointment student/parent/teacher conferences will be scheduled for Thursday, March 9th between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. The link to sign up for conferences will go live on March 3rd at the same time mid-semester progress reports are available. The link will go home in the notes that same Friday.

Early Release Wednesday Coming - Repeat Announcement
On February 22nd, we will have our next Early Release Wednesday. Students are expected to depart campus in a timely and organized fashion. We appreciate your patience with traffic on these days. In preparation, please plan on allowing longer time for entry and exit to the school at release time. For Elementary School students, the lunch routine will not change. For our Middle and High School students, hot lunch will be served.
High School Registration for 17/18 Classes - Repeat Announcement
The updated curriculum guide for 17/18 is available on Moodle and on the website. In the guide you can read about all of our new courses and access the curriculum maps to help guide selection. The guide also lists prerequisites for each course. Whether or not a student meets the prerequisite will be determined by his or her first semester grade. Should he/she not make the prerequisite, he/she may not register for the course. Instead, if the student earns the prerequisite grade in semester two, he/she can request a transfer to the course pending space available.
Students in grades 9 - 11 had their registration assembly this Tuesday (February 7th). This was followed by teachers spending time in class this week to help guide student selection. All registration forms are due (with parent signature) no later than 4:00 pm on February 17th.
Submitted requests will be entered into our database and, then, students will have a chance to meet with counselors about their course selections should they desire. All aspiring IB diploma or online learning classes will be required to attend a meeting with their counselor and Mr. Malone.
Course verification forms will be circulated on March 22nd and students who have changed their minds regarding course selections will have the chance to make changes on this form. All verification forms are due by 4:00 pm on March 27th. After this date no changes to requests will be accepted.
Once the 17/18 master schedule is complete, students will receive a tentative schedule for next year. Students will, once again, have the opportunity to change their schedule in the final week of school and, then again, in the fall. That said, we expect students to choose wisely in February and March so that we are able to build the best possible schedule that meets the needs of all students. Please help this process by having discussions at home about registration and reaching out to counselors with any questions you may have.
