Dear Students and Parents,

What a pleasure to have everyone back on campus this week! For those students who have had to work from home virtually, we are pleased you could join us even if not in person.

VLD Option Concludes This Week

Attendance has been strong from the start of the with the few unable to join us diminishing each day. As a result, we will not run a Virtual Learning option next week.  Should students still not be able to reach school, kindly contact either Mr. Hicks or Ms. Basnight to make arrangements.

Upcoming Progress Report

The next progress report is rescheduled for December 15th.  Families will be able to access grades to date at 4:00 pm that day. Please note that some additional assessments may be added to grade books throughout vacation. Assessments and assignments that were still outstanding from before the school closure may not be reflected in this grade as teachers have until January to finalize everything.  Assessments assigned between December 7th and 17th can only help and not hurt a student’s mark.  Final official grades will be published as part of the official report card on January 14th.

Transfer Documentation

Sadly it is around this time that we say goodbye to departing students and throughout next week departing families will be working hard to collect supporting documentation to aide in their transition.

The following documents can be requested by Wednesday, December 15th and will be available for pick up on Friday, December 18th: progress report reflecting grades to date as of December 14th, community service documentation, transfer document/bonafide certificate and previous records.

Official transcripts and reports cards reflecting this semester will only be available after January 14th.

Skyward Username Update for High School Students - A Note from Technology

Over the upcoming holiday break student Skyward usernames for High School students will be updated to match their Google usernames. This will happen on January 1st. Please remind your child of this. They will also receive an email with this information in their school email.

Yearbook photos - delay in delivery

Due to the floods, there has been a delay in the printing and delivery of the Yearbook photos which many of you have ordered. The photographer is trying his best to get these to us next week. If we cannot deliver them before we close on 18th, we will do so upon your return in January. Those who have ordered and are not returning to AISC in January, please make sure that you leave your forwarding address with the office.

Rescheduled SAT - Reminder

The SAT scheduled for December 5th has been delayed until December 19th.  Ms. McGlamery will contact registered students with details.

High School Parent Coffee - Rescheduled - Repeat Announcement

Given the school closure this past Tuesday, we postpone our coffee on mindfulness until the next scheduled coffee in February.  Thus, please mark your calendars for Tuesday, February 23rd at 8:45 am in the BBT.  Susannah McGlamery and I will have even more to share with parents about the work we have been doing with students regarding mindfulness by that time. Parents will have the opportunity to participate in some mindfulness practice of their own.

Sincerely,
Joelle Basnight
High School Principal
