Dear Students and Parents,

Congratulations to all of the students who participated in this year’s Cabaret - Spin Cycle!  What an enjoyable and impressive evening!  Over 50 students performed or helped produce the show and played to a full house last Saturday night!

Earlier that same day two teachers and twelve students travelled to just outside Pondicherry to participate in a Habitat for Humanity build.  We thank them for their care and dedication to helping provide housing for those less fortunate.

Monday marked the official opening of our IB and AP Art Show in the Auditorium foyer.  If you have not already stopped in to explore the fabulous art and hear from the artists themselves (scan any of the QR codes) please do so before April 17th.

Finally, please take a moment to check out the latest installment of the online literary journal, the Raptor Reader.

A Message from the Athletics Office

We currently are preparing for our upcoming SAISA Boys Basketball Tournament running from April 23 through April 25, 2015.

We need your help in housing all of our visiting athletes for this tournament.

If you are able to host please contact Ms. Sally Victor (vsally@aisch.org)

Kathryn Claire Returns!

AISC welcomes singer-songwriter, Kathryn Claire as our Spring 2015 Artist in Residence! After a successful residency last year, Kathryn will return for two weeks (April 13 - 24) of teaching and performance.  Part of a new generation of traditionally-inspired musicians, Kathryn’s guitar and fiddle-playing exhibit a technical grace which is matched only by her truly captivating voice and her rare ability to move seamlessly across genres. She will be working in elementary, middle, and high school music classes and will conduct after school song-writing workshops with MS/HS students.

Beginning April 13th, Kathryn’s residency will culminate in a Friday@5 concert in association with R.I.S.E. on the 24th of April. Her charismatic presence and infectious smile have made her a favorite at venues and festivals around the world- and we are thrilled to welcome her back to our campus.

Summer Opportunities for Students

The counselors continue to maintain and add to their blog with summer opportunities for students. Families who are interested in participating in summer programs should check out the Counselor's Blog on the HS Counseling Moodle page. There is a page dedicated to summer enrichment programs which the counselors are updating as new information comes to them. If you are aware of programs that you'd like to share publicly, please email information to Ms. McGlamery or Ms. Larsen.

We wish you all a restful and enjoyable Spring Break.  Safe travels!

Sincerely,
Joelle Basnight
