Dear
Parents,
It's been another activity-packed week for our students and faculty. We're growing from our experiences in so many ways: in athletics, in theater, in the visual arts and in our service to others. It is hard to imagine a more dynamic learning environment.
Operation Smile
This week two teams of students participated in an Operation Smile mission in a village near Kolkata. The trip was organized by Operation Smile advisor Vasanthi Thandlam. As reported by the other chaperon, Ms. Susannah McGlamery, "Our students are demonstrating the core values of AISC in every way. They are spending time with patients in pre-and post-operation and assisting with medical records. Each of them has taken initiative and shown great compassion. The medical team has raved about them."SAISA Sports weekend
This week three of our SAISA sports
teams have been competing for top honors. Our boys basketball team is at the,
is at the Overseas School of Colombo and our girls soccer team is playing at
the Lincoln School in Kathmandu and our track and field team is right here at
AISC. For us it have been a fantastic opportunity to see our tracksters in
action. Lots of thanks are due throughout the community:
- to our Athletics Department for doing such an amazing job of organizing not only the track and Field Meet but also making the travel arrangements for the other teams;
- to our coaches – Holly Younglove, Ryan McFarland, Jeff Moore, Ethan Katz, Tommy Bohorquez and Seth Hills – for their commitment to bringing out the best in our students as athletes, as sportsmen and as ambassadors for our school;
- to the many volunteers – faculty and parents – who contributed many hours to making the Track & Field Meet a success; and
- to all of the families who hosted SAISA athletes and coaches over the past few days.

High School Play - "Into the Woods"
“The cow as white as milk,
The cape as red as blood,
The hair as yellow as corn,
The slipper as pure as gold.”
Will the baker and his wife find the four special objects to
reverse the horrible witch’s curse? Will Jack sell the cow and buy food
for his poor family? Will Cinderella’s handsome prince find her? And
Little Red Riding Hood! Will she safely make it to her granny’s cottage
in the woods... or will she fall prey to the devious, yet charming, wolf?
Come to the high school production of Stephen Sondheim’s musical, Into
the Woods, to find out what happens to some of your favorite fairy tale
characters who cross paths in this spirited musical!
Shows are Friday, March 21st, at 5:00 PM, and Saturday, March
22nd, at 7:00 PM. Tickets are on sale before and after school near the
front entrance and during the day with Ms. Sonia in the main reception.
Tickets are available in three sections: Director’s Circle (Rs. 500),
Orchestra (Rs. 300), and Mezzanine (Rs. 100). Support our creative and
courageous student actors by coming with us “Into the Woods.”
High School Parent Coffee
On Tuesday, March 25 we will hold our
next High School Parent Coffee from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. in the cafeteria. Mr.
Jason Hicks will share information about our efforts to build a culture of
service to the local and global community.

The summer weather is
on its way! Be sure to stay cool and stay hydrated. See tips for keeping

Students leaving AISC
Each year some of our students leave the school. Records from AISC
are usually required by the next school. However, it takes us some time to
prepare these records. If you will be leaving the school, please contact us at
least as soon as possible so we can prepare the necessary documents to make
your transition as smooth as possible. Final report cards and transcripts will be made available for 12th Grade students by the end of the school day on Friday, May 30. Final report
cards will be available for 9th, 10th and 11th grade
students by Friday, June 6.
