Dear Parents,

We've entered the final month of the school year. The IB exams began this week and the AP exams will start next week. Students who have either an IB or AP exam are excused from classes for the half day prior to the exam. It won’t be long before Prom Night, final exams and graduation. It’s an exciting time, but also a time for students to be mindful of their well being and making sure to eat well and get enough sleep.

This week's World Cafe was a great success. Students, parents, faculty and staff came together for several meetings to share our views on what AISC is and what it might be. I heard many positive remarks about the maturity and insight of our students. As the 'end users' their voice is particularly important in building our shared vision for a future in which we embrace the changes that will enhance learning while holding on to the values that make AISC such a great place to work and learn.

Next week we will host Virginia 'Gini' Rojas, a consultant to international schools in the area of English as a Second Language. She is here to conduct an audit of our ESL program to help us identify ways that we can best provide our English language learners with supportive, engaging and productive experience. We are looking forward to her visit and learning more about current best practices in ESL.

Departing students - Each year some of our students leave the school. Student records are usually required by the next school. We are more than happy to assist you in your move. However,  bear in mind that it takes us some time to prepare these records. If your family will be leaving AISC this year, please contact Ms. Berna in the High School Office as soon as possible. We will prepare the necessary documents to make your transition as smooth as possible. Please note that final report cards and transcripts will be available for Grade 12students on Friday, June 8. Final report cards and transcripts for students in Grades 9, 10 and 11 will be available on Friday, June 15.

Don't forget to check the links to the right to catch up on more important information from the High School.

Have a restful and enjoyable weekend.
