Repeat Announcement Attendance: If your child is unwell/has symptoms and is staying home
As we work through this season of weather changes and seasonal illnesses, and continue to manage through the pandemic, please review our expectations about attendance when your child is unexpectedly unwell or has symptoms that require them to stay at home. Your child should be able to attend fully from home, or should take the full day to rest and recover.
Parent Locker: By 8am, indicate on Parent Locker “Yes” to Question 3:
“My child has felt sick in the past 24 hours.”
Email Ms. Sunita: By 8am, communicate your child’s absence to Ms. Sunita in the HS office via email. Ms. Sunita will share your child’s absence with all teachers and with the Health office. The Health office will contact you to determine next steps, including how and when your child can safely return to in-person.
Attend all classes fully from home: If your child is home due to mild symptoms, and is able to attend all synch classes - your child must attend all synch classes.
Rest and recover from home: If your child is unwell and not able to attend all synch classes - your child should not attend any synch classes that day - they should take the full day to rest and recover.
Virtual for the day and Summatives: If your child is attending school in-person, and is unwell/virtual for the day and your child has a summative assessment - your child cannot take the summative virtually. They must take the summative as a makeup in person, either with their teacher, or in SMMS later that week.
Repeat Announcement: Portal Project - Parent Sessions
We are excited to introduce a speaker series for parents starting in November called Parenting Beyond the Pandemic. These virtual sessions will bring experts and practitioners directly to our parent community to address a variety of relevant topics. The full list of sessions can be found here and the titles below. Registration for the sessions will take place through Eventbrite.
Repeat Announcement: Final Exams in December: In-Person
Please find here the Semester 1 final exam schedule for December 13-17. As you make your travel plans, I want to make sure you know that Final Exams will be in-person during final exam week. The exception is for students who have been and will remain virtual. If your travel plans include the need to be out of Chennai Dec 13-17, your child will need to sit for in-person final exam makeups starting January 10, 2022, when we return for Semester 2.
Sincerely,
Mike Malone
