Module 9 and Exams
The week of December 7-11 will be used for review for traditional 2-hour paper/pen assessments or for the presentation/submission of alternative cumulative assessments. This week will be called Module 9 and last for only one week. On Friday, December 11th, we will have a special schedule where all courses can avail of a 45 minute last class of the semester.
December 14-18 will be traditional final exam week. Students need only attend when their final exam is scheduled. As last semester, the final exams will be by subject, with a proctor supervising each class. Instructions for virtual examinations can be found here. There will be no module posted for students this exam week.
Save the Date - November Parent Coffee
This month’s parent coffee is targeted to support Grade 11 parents as they begin to think about the college application process, though parents from all grade levels are welcome to attend. The coffee will be very similar to last years with a mock panel of applicants to universities in the US and UK. The coffee will take place on Tuesday, November 24th at 8:45 am (meeting link; passcode = HS)
Discovery Day - Repeat Announcement
Although we are virtual, 13 clubs and 7 teachers will still provide fun, skill learning, and service opportunities, like previous years. After our morning sessions, students will have the 2nd session of their Wellbeing activity.
Save the Date - Celebration of Learning - Repeat Announcement
Please join us for the Semester One Celebration of Learning on Thursday, November 19th, from 3:45-4:45 pm. A live virtual program will be shared here on November 18th as well as via your grade level PCA representative via WhatsApp.
What is a Celebration of Learning? Each semester, students from across high school disciplines and grade levels create a space for us to share in and celebrate their learning.
In 10 minute sessions, students:
Describe a meaningful assignment they completed recently
Demonstrate/show their work
Describe challenges and successes
Explain what they took away from their learning
Invite questions and feedback
This semester, look for students celebrating their learning in Physics, Math, Theatre, IB CAS, Personalized Learning/Capstone, Social Studies 10, AP World History, Critical Thinking Reading & Writing II, Mobile App Development, Design Technology, Health/PE, AP Computer Science, Science in Action, Spanish and Biology.
