Student to Teacher Feedback - Semester Two
On March 2nd and 3rd students will have the opportunity to complete a survey to give feedback to each of their teachers. This is both quantitative and qualitative. We ask that all students take the process seriously and give specific appreciation and actionable constructive criticism.
Next Early Release Wednesday
The next Early Release Wednesday will be on March 11th. Students are expected to depart campus in a timely and organized fashion upon dismissal at 2:00 pm. For our Middle and High School students, a hot lunch will be served. Food services in the iHub will close at 1:50 pm. Please note that the iHub will be open to provide an air-conditioned waiting area until 2:40 pm in case drivers are delayed. We appreciate your patience with traffic these days as all three sections are picking up students at the same time.
Mid-Semester Reports and Student Parent Teacher Conferences -
Repeat Announcement
Mid-semester Progress Reports will be sent home on Tuesday, March 10th. This will be followed by Student Parent-Teacher Conferences on Tuesday, March 24th (right after Spring Break).
Like last semester, conferences will be held in two ways.
First, from 8:00 - 10:00 am, faculty will be available in the gym for drop-in conferences. These should be quick check-ins that can be done in a more public venue as conferences are limited to 10 minutes and are not private.
Second, from 10:30 am - 4:00 pm, faculty will be available in their classrooms for individual appointments. These conferences are no more than 15 minutes in length. The link to sign up for these conferences will be sent home in the Principal's Notes on Friday, March 6th.
Parent Coffee - Presentation
On Tuesday, February 25th the counselors hosted a parent coffee about helping your teen become an adult. Here is the presentation from the coffee. The final slide has a list of resources.
Looking ahead, our March parent coffee (March 31) will be dedicated to how to support your teen in understanding rubrics and defining concrete goals and action plans for improvement. Our April coffee (April 28), the final coffee of the year, will unpack the results of our Challenge Success Survey.
Summer Programs
The counseling office maintains a list of summer offerings that may be of interest. This link will remain in my notes throughout the semester and the list will be added to as opportunities arise.
Sincerely,
Joelle Basnight
High School Principal
