Dear Students and Parents,
Please join me in congratulating all of the faculty and students for such successful Discover India trips! The trips have been a huge topic of discussion all week! Photos from the trips can be found here. The password for the album is raptors17.
Congratulations Interact Club for, once again, completing their Installation Program with the Chennai Rotary Club. Interact is a club with over thirty student volunteers who serve the community by focusing on educating local school children. The Interact student leadership (Nithya, SeaHyun, Seyun and DongHyun) did a wonderful job officially opening the year!
Progress Update - Today!
Grades will be as up to date as possible with all relevant information posted by 4:00 pm this afternoon. For those of you who may have missed the link to the presentation explaining how to navigate PowerSchool, here is the presentation. Simply click the arrow at the bottom left and the presentation will start. There is a little lag time between each slide so please be patient. Mid-semester progress reports will go home on Friday, October 27th with Student Parent Teacher Conferences on November 1st and 3rd.
Next Early Release Wednesday
A quick reminder that Wednesday, October 11th, will be our next Early Release Wednesday. Students are expected to depart campus in a timely and organized fashion upon dismissal at 2:00 pm. We appreciate your patience with traffic on these days as all three sections are picking up students at the same time. In preparation, please plan on allowing longer time for entry and exit to the school at release time. For our Middle and High School students, hot lunch will be served.
Learning Habits Conferences Beginning
As you know, the October mid-semester progress report represents the first time we will be formally reporting on Learning Habits in the high school. During the week of October 9 - 13 students and teachers will be conferencing about individual progress regarding the Learning Habits. Students will be asked to self-evaluate using our Learning Habits Rubric and, then, the teacher will also complete the rubric for comparison. The forms will then be compared during the conference and students will have the chance to share evidence with teachers should there be a discrepancy between the two ratings.
Save the Date - High School Parent Coffee
On Tuesday, October 31st from 8:45 - 9:45 am, the High School will host its next parent coffee in the BBT. As was requested during our last coffee, Sherriden Masters will give a presentation about how best to help your children manage their online lives. This will include tips for cyber safety as well as practical ways you can help your teen monitor their screentime and online life!
