Monthly Recognition Delayed
Due to the school closure we are extending the nomination period for the Vision for an AISC Learner recognition for Resilience until the end of term. Honorees will be recognized in mid-January. For your information, resilience in the classroom is defined as:
Resilient students demonstrate ongoing commitment to their and our learning endeavors. These students practice persistence and patience in all situations, learning from successes and failures in the positive pursuit of their objectives, goals and dreams. Resilient students set and adhere to their goals, seek and integrate feedback and keep their eyes on the prize in all situations, especially when they are challenging or uncomfortable.
Skyward Update Moved
In light of the school closure we have shifted the date for the final Skyward Update to Monday, December 12th at 4:00 pm. Teacher will have their last summative assessments posted in Skyward. Any retakes of these assessments can be scheduled at the teacher’s convenience next week or during the final school monitored study session next Friday. Please note that final exams/alternative assessments may not be retaken.
Schedule and Expectations During Exam Week
High School exam week starts on Tuesday, December 13th. In order for all students to be present, we will hold our end of term farewell assembly at 8:30 am. All students are expected to attend. In this assembly we will say goodbye to departing students as well
present our Vision for an AISC Learner Departmental awards. After the assembly students will have a short quiet revision time before starting their first session of exams. The room assignments are as follows:

From Wednesday, December 14th, onward students are only required to be at school when they have an exam scheduled. The HS CIC we be a silent study zone throughout exam week for students who prefer coming to campus to study. The remainder of campus (HS Commons, iHub, classrooms) can be used as collaborative spaces but the focus should be on revision. Students who become disruptive by socializing to a point that it disrupts the studies of others will be given one warning afterwhich they will be asked to contact their parents to arrange for transport home. We are confident that this will not become necessary.
Report Cards for Semester One
Report cards will be issued on Friday, January 13th. So teachers can add marks and comments in preparation for the 13th, Skyward access will be closed from January 6th until January 13th.
HS Fun Night Out - A Note from the Organizers
The stakes might have been high for those who ventured out in the heavy rain but the payoffs were great. Students had fun learning new casino games. The dice were hot, some walked away, others doubled down and there were many lucky winners. Below are some photos of last Friday's Casino Night.
We look forward to another semester of great Night's Out which will include movies, games and sports. Our next FNO is scheduled for Saturday, January 21.
