Congratulations to all athletes and artists who participated in SAISA last weekend. It was an exciting time and the passion, dedication and camaraderie shown by all participants is to be commended.

Skyward Progress Update Today
The first Skyward Progress Update of the semester will be available online by 4:00 pm today. Teachers have done their best to have all marking up to date and recorded in Skyward. Should you have questions about your student’s progress after checking Skyward, please first have a direct conversation with your son/daughter. Your own student is the best resource for determining what is to be celebrated or improved. If questions remain, please contact the relevant teacher.
Course Registration for 2016/17 Underway
This week kicked off the course registration process for the 2016/17 school year. On Tuesday all 9th - 11th graders attended an informational assembly about the registration process and received their registration forms. On Wednesday and Thursday teachers conferenced with individual students about the logical next steps in their studies for next year. The counselors and AP/IB Coordinator offered lunchtime and after school sessions to share more about our advanced courses and our Personalize Learning Coordinator will be hosting informational sessions about online and independent learning options next week. The full curriculum guide can be found on AISC’s website on the high school page. Please note that all registration forms are due on Monday, February 15th.
Between February 15th and March 11th students who have expressed interest in the full IB Diploma program will meet with the IB Coordinator to discuss the details of his/her desired two year course of study. All other students are encouraged to use the month to reflect on the courses they chose and to continue having conversations with their teachers and parents. On March 15th students will receive a “registration verification” form printed from our student information system for a final check. This provides an additional opportunity for students to make adjustments to their requests. Students wishing to make changes must do so no later than March 29th.
Attention AP Students and Parents - A Note from the AP Coordinator
This week families received fee letters for the AP exams held in May 2016. Ms. Sunita sent a soft copy of the letter to parent email accounts and a hard copy has been given to students. Exam fees are due by March 18t. Please ensure the letter is signed and returned to Ms. Sunita with proof of payment. 20/21 Learning Dialogue, Thursday, February 25, 4:15pm -
A Note from the Office of Advancement
On Thursday, February 25th, we will host our final 20/21 Learning Dialogue of the year. The topic for this dialogue is "The Future of School." Participants will generate ideas around the topic using design thinking. Join us for a thought-provoking event in the ES Discovery Lab, with doors opening at 3:45 p.m. and starting at 4:15 p.m.

Save the Date - Feb Fling - A Note from Student Council
The High School is excited about creating various fun activity booths for elementary and middle school students on Saturday, February 27, from 12-4 pm on the Main Field. The booths will offer a range of activities: T-Shirt decorating, Cookie Decorating, Pin the Tail on the Raptor, Splash, Can Knock Down, Ring Toss, Nail Art, an Obstacle course, Sponge throw, Floor Board, Velcro Catch Ball, and a Bouncy Castle.
The ticket price for the event is 300 rupees, which includes food, but some activities will have an additional cost. There will also be a raffle. Tickets for the raffle are at an additional cost.
This is a way that the high school students can create a memorable experience for the elementary and middle school students and contribute to the AISC community. High school clubs also apply to use the money collected to fund their activities.

Summer Program Information Available - From the Counseling Office
Believe it or not, it is time to start thinking about how you might spend time this summer. While summer provides a great opportunity to relax and recharge, it is also a great time to participate in an activities that will enrich you in some way. Many summer programs are available around the world for students your age and any of these programs have applications that are due earlier than you might expect. Save the Date! High School Parent Coffee - Repeat Announcement
The next High School Parent Coffee will take place on Tuesday, February 23rd at 8:45 am in the BBT. Susannah McGlamery and I will share with parents some of the work we have been doing with students regarding mindfulness and parents will have the opportunity to participate in some mindfulness practice of their own.
Annual Student Lifestyle Survey Coming Soon - Repeat Announcement
Please be aware that during the week of February 15th all high school students will complete an in-house student lifestyle survey. This is a similar survey to the one completed last year. The survey includes questions about alcohol and drug use, sexual activity, computer use, sleep patterns, stress and various other health and lifestyle related questions. The survey is based on the CDC student survey completed every other year in the United States with some additional questions added that are specific to our school context. All responses are anonymous and the results will be fully debriefed with parents and students.
