Dear Parents,

The excitement that always marks the end of the school year is starting to build. The Seniors have finished their coursework and are taking advantage of a well-deserved rest. They will head off on a retreat early next week for one last opportunity to be together as a class and to reflect on their experiences at AISC. Their comments and suggestions will be helpful to the faculty and administration as we seek to continuously improve the way we do things.

High School Awards Assembly
At today’s Awards Assembly we celebrated the academic and athletic accomplishments of our students. Our outstanding athletes received several awards, after which we presented the Faculty Awards for Achievement. We announced the Valedictorian and the Salutatorian of this year’s graduating class and finally the National Honor Society inducted new members into the Seva chapter.

You can see the the names of the students who received awards as well as the criteria for the Faculty Awards by following the High School Awards 2013-2014 link in the sidebar.

Semester Exams
The underclassmen still have a way to go with semester exams beginning on Monday. These are summative assessments that help teachers determine the extent to which each student has met the learning outcomes for the course. Students in grades 9-11 will take their exams starting on May 26 and ending on May 29. To ensure the integrity of the assessments, final exams will not be given prior to the exam dates. A final schedule have been posted in the Daily Bulletin, on the high school Moodle page and on the bulletin boards around the high school.

Commencement Exercises
Next Wednesday the faculty and the Seniors will meet one last time at the Senior-Faculty Dinner. Then on Thursday we will hold the main event, the Commencement Exercises marking the graduation of the AISC Class of 2014. The ceremony will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the Theater and will be followed by a reception for the Seniors, their families and their guests.

SAT preparation courses
The Kaplan Center of Chennai will be offering SAT preparation courses on our campus beginning on August 16. The classes will take place in the afternoon on Saturdays and are appropriate for students in grades 11 and 12. The Kaplan Center will have an enrolment desk in the main entrance of the school on May 27-29. For enrollment information, please call 9176639785 or 9176639766 or send an email message to Harleenb@thechopras.com.

Students leaving AISC
Each year some of our students leave the school. Records from AISC are usually required by the next school. However, it takes us some time to prepare these records. If you will be leaving the school, please contact us at least as soon as possible so we can prepare the necessary documents to make your transition as smooth as possible. Final report cards and transcripts will be made available for 12th Grade students by the end of the school day on Friday, May 30. Final report cards will be available for 9th, 10th and 11th grade students by Friday, June 6.
