Dear Parents,
It was good to see everyone again after the Spring Break. From talking with students, it sounds as though most took advantage of the opportunity to rest and relax, which was good to hear. We have a short time before the end of the school year, but it will be a busy time.
Our sense of ease was disturbed on Wednesday by the earthquake and warning of a tsunami. Our students and faculty members responded remarkably well to the emergency. I heard numerous comments about how calmly and maturely the high school students managed the unusual circumstances, and was very grateful to see them set a good example for the younger students.
NESA Math Club - Congratulations to our NESA Math Club. they have placed second in a very competitive field of international schools. See Ms. Kala update in the link on the right side of this page.
IB & AP Visual Arts Exhibit - Don't miss a fantastic exhibit by our IB and AP Visual Arts students all next week in the Black Box Theater. It is an impressive body of 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional work.
Report cards - Third quarter report cards will be sent home with students today. Parents can also access them online, as noted above.
Departing students - Each year some of our students leave the school. Student records are usually required by the next school. We are more than happy to assist you in your move. However, bear in mind that it takes us some time to prepare these records. If your family will be leaving AISC this year, please contact Ms. Berna in the High School Office as soon as possible. We will prepare the necessary documents to make your transition as smooth as possible. Please note that final report cards and transcripts will be available for Grade 12students on Friday, June 8. Final report cards and transcripts for students in Grades 9, 10 and 11 will be available on Friday, June 15.
Don't forget to check for important news in the links to the right.
Have a wonderful weekend.
